Course Description

The Prealgebra course is divided into two parts and this course covers the material from the first part. It is designed to help students develop a strong foundation in math that will benefit both their school math curriculum and their competition preparation. This course consists of twenty-two 1.5-hours lectures, along with weekly 1-hour homework review sessions led by a teaching assistant. Students are expected to complete homework assignments after each lecture, and the review sessions will review the homework and provide additional support.

  • Prerequisite

    We recommend that students have completed an elementary school math curriculum or a similar program such as Beast Academy, covering grades 1-4, prior to enrolling in our program. This will ensure that students have a foundational understanding of mathematical concepts and skills needed for the program.

  • Signature Features

    With more than 6 years experience of teaching AoPS prealgebra course, we have developed our own curriculum to motivate students learning interesting and challenging math at a young age. Besides assignments from the textbook, supplementary worksheets are provided to give students sufficient training on basic concepts. In addition. Several in-class competitions with money prizes are in place to motivate students to work together solving fun math problems.
